Metroid: Other M tarjoaa vaikuttavaa grafiikkaa ja sulavia animaatioita Wiille, ainutlaatuisen yhdistelmän 2D- ja 3D-pelaamista sekä nopeaa toimintaa. Pomotaistelut ja viimeistelyliikkeet ovat näyttäviä, ja yksinkertainen ohjaus tekee pelistä helposti lähestyttävän. Kokemusta kuitenkin häiritsevät pitkät välianimaatiot ja tarina, joka ei aina saa hyvää vastaanottoa. Peli on melko lineaarinen, joten tutkimiselle jää vähän tilaa, ja näkymien vaihto tuntuu kömpelöltä. Taistelut ovat toistavia ja niistä puuttuu syvyys, jota Metroid-fanit odottavat. Toiminnan ja visuaalisuuden ystäville peli on kiinnostava, mutta perinteistä Metroid-tutkimista kaipaavat voivat pettyä.

Let's turn Samus into someone soft and weak willed with daddy issues and then keep angling the camera on her butt. Not to mention the voice acting and writing outside of that is terrible. Great job. Hoping they remove this from continuity and fix her character. Gameplay is serviceable.

This is a mysogynistic mess. It's worth having in your game library as an example of how not to craft a story showing the inner struggles of a strong female protagonist. As a game, it's not bad, but it's narrative problems are too big and the gameplay isn't great enough to turn your brain off and just have fun with it.

I like the game play personally, but the portrayal of Samus was done entirely in vain and seriously could have been done better.
