Def Jam Rapstar on ainutlaatuinen karaokepeli hiphop-faneille, jossa on vahva kappalelista ja hauskat moninpelivaihtoehdot. Videotallennus- ja jakamistoiminto tekee siitä erityisen. Monet kappaleet ovat kuitenkin sensuroituja ja uramoodi on melko yksinkertainen. Peli sopii erityisen hyvin bileisiin ja yhteiselle pelaamiselle, mutta ne, jotka etsivät enemmän haastetta tai laajempaa kappalelistaa, saattavat pettyä. Puheentunnistus toimii hyvin, mutta nopeat räppisanoitukset voivat olla vaikeita seurata. Kaiken kaikkiaan viihdyttävä, mutta ei täydellinen peli genrefaneille.

We've played Rockband and Guitar Hero, but always wanted something that aligned with the music that we like to listen to. The music selection varied from classics to some current and there is the option to unlock more in career mode, but we didn't get that far yet. We had a blast competing to see who was the best. This was a hit in our house

I know this game is old, but we've been into Rockband 4 lately, and it reminded us that this exists. Yes the game is cheap, but you CANNOT access the downloadable content. Apparently there was a big lawsuit right after this game came out, and it all got shut down. We purchased this believing that we could supplement the extremely limited playlist with the dozens and dozens of songs listed as DLC - but nope. All you get is what's on the disc, and you'll burn through that in one session. Hopefully someone comes out with a new version of a game like this, or Rockband starts to diversify more. Side note, this game is not backwards compatible. We knew that going in, so that doesn't factor into the review, but if you're hoping to play on Xbox One - no.

I've been doing Rock Band/Guitar Hero games since uh 2007? What was always missing is more RAP. This game had a lot of my favorite songs that I could never get elsewhere. I think it's totally must have for rap fans of those types of games. BUT some of the songs are a lot harder to sing than you thought they were.
