The dialogue is awful, the game play can be summed up as "mash the x button", and the story is mediocre. The cut scenes are beautiful and about 60% of the time you play the game is spent watching cut scenes but without good dialogue or story, what's the point?

I used to absolutely hate this game, but I've grown to appreciate it more over time. You can enjoy it if you go in with low expectations, but by no means is it a good Final Fantasy game.

The Final Fantasy series is why I buy major platforms such as Playstion 3. FFXIII has exceptional graphics and looks amazing even now on a 4K TV. It’s basically like watching a beautifully rendered visual book. The gameplay can be a little basic, but the story is why I bought this game again to begin with. Say what you will about this game, but I enjoyed it.

Final Fantasy XIII.. isn't as bad as people may think.. although this may be my first installment..of the franchise.. lighting..kinda ok as a character she gets much better later down the road. The characters are just as good I personally like sazi .. & vanile, the combat was a little repetitive..but it's a rpg ..so yeah. It's pretty ok game for a new comer.
