Sonic Mania Plus saa kiitosta klassisesta 2D-tasohyppelystään, erinomaisesta kenttäsuunnittelusta ja nostalgisesta tunnelmastaan. Encore-tila ja uudet hahmot tuovat lisää haastetta ja uudelleenpeluuarvoa. Retro HD-grafiikka ja ääniraita ovat erittäin pidettyjä. Monet pelaajat kuitenkin kokevat, että osa kentistä muistuttaa liikaa aiempia Sonic-pelejä ja Encore-tilan erikoistasot ovat tarpeettoman vaikeita. Uusia alueita on vähän, mikä tekee pelistä joillekin vähemmän tuoreen. Silti se on yksi parhaista Sonic-kokemuksista sekä uusille että vanhoille faneille.

The game is great and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes Sonic. Although I wished it had come with a few ps4 themes and a few more extra things for the extra money I spent.

The definitive version of Sonic Mania, complete with new characters and a gorgeous artbook. Albeit a small book (the size of the game box, and at 36 pages), it's packed with content. If you're a Sonic fan, fan of 2D sidescrollers and/or platformers, this is definitely a game for you.

The ‘Plus’ additions are minor but this is still a touching, and highly playable, labour of love by fans that understand Sonic The Hedgehog better than Sega themselves.
