Triggerheart Exelica

At 800 Microsoft points ($10), Triggerheart Exelica is sort of a risky proposition. On one hand you have a bright, colorful, highly addictive shooter that'll flex those twitch gaming muscles a bit. On the other hand the game is very short, and if you're not a hardcore fan of the genre, and don't care about leaderboard rankings and hunting down Achievement points, then there won't be any incentive for you to bother with the game after completing it once. Simply put, Triggerheart Exelica is a game I'd only recommended to hardcore shooter fans.

At 800 MS points, I would advise everyone to pick this up, though with a bit more hesitation than Omega Five . The graphics and art style are all passable, but can sometimes cause problems with seeing everything on screen. And the lack of any online modes, just like with Omega Five , really do hurt the game. This shooter is blander and more difficult, but also possesses a certain traditional charm to it. I think it’s a must-have for anyone into shooters, or anyone that wants to be prepared for when Ikaruga hits, but once again, the best reason to buy it is to support the genre.

Warashi’s “Triggerheart Exelica” is easily one of the best games on the Xbox Live Arcade market place and is currently the only real title of the genre. Anyone looking to get their fix should buy this without question, but I recommend playing the trial if you’re unsure. If you like the trial, chances are you’ll fall in love with the final product and want more of the same. Personally, I can’t stop playing this game!
