Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume erottuu ainutlaatuisella Plume-järjestelmällään, jossa joudut tekemään vaikeita strategisia ja moraalisia valintoja: liittolaisen uhraaminen tuo valtavan voiman, mutta menetyksen pysyvästi. Tämä luo jännitystä ja merkityksellisiä dilemmoja. Pelissä on useita loppuja ja polkuja, mikä lisää uudelleenpeluuarvoa. Taistelut ovat haastavia ja vaativat fiksua yhteistyötä ja sijoittelua. Korkea vaikeustaso, erityisesti suojelutehtävissä, voi kuitenkin turhauttaa. Tarina ei syvennä tiimin jäsenten kehitystä ja musiikki jää DS:n rajoitusten vuoksi vaatimattomaksi. Strategiapelien ystäville, jotka kaipaavat haastetta ja uudelleenpelattavuutta, peli on kiinnostava, mutta syvällisiä hahmoja tai huippuääntä ei kannata odottaa.

It's a very fun game that really will only appeal to hard core tactics fans like me. If you're into strategy rpgs, I would suggest this title. It's not as good as a Final Fantasy Tactics or an Ogre Battle, but it gets the job done.

i a big fan of valkyrie profile games i played the ps2 version and really like this DS version both really good games. the game play is a puzzle you have to figure out on your own but of course we have the internet and walkthroughs video or website

Not the best in the series. You start off playing the bad guy (and I think it is pretty obvious you're a bad guy). Battles I thought were kinda hard without using your evil "power of the plume" to sacrifice your own party members to become super powerful. It's like Fire Emblem where you can't go to a map to level up the way you can in Final Fantasy Tactics. There are a few "side missions" though and I think three different endings.
