I reached out to Garmin for this issue several times but no one helped: frequently, the watch face will not wake up even though the device is on. This happens during activities and otherwise. They wanted a video showing the issue (which I managed to send), yet nothing was done. This is a known issue. The watch also requires a fairly high minimum speed or it thinks I am stopped, and does not record moving time correctly. I suppose in Kansas it's feasible to always be going 3 mph, but not so much in places with big ole mountains. This is regardless of whether it's paused when stopped. It's annoying.

The watch arrived without an instruction manual. I searched online and eventually found how you must download it. Now i have to print it. It is quite the document... 120 pages. My main question is how do I customize the standard watch face (i.e. by deciding which features I want displayed) without having to download a new watch face.

I got this to replace a Forerunner 245. Despite having more functions, it is worse. The battery life is great. It works for simple runs and bikes. The interval setup is impossibly complex, requires a computer or phone, and you have to enter each interval individually instead of saying repeat x number of times. I will never use it. So now I need an Interval App after buying a more expensive watch. The heart rate monitor is 20-30 BPM wrong at all times, so it is useless too. Then the Garmin Connect update made it stop connecting with my iPhone so I had to delete all my apps and factory reset my phone. Great job, Garmin. I regret buying this watch.

In general, very happy with this purchase. The 570 is a great sports watch. Heart rate accuracy and GPS accuracy seem much improved from the Instinct 2 it replaced. My only minor complaint is that I'm not in love with any of the pre-installed watch faces. They're not bad; there's just none that really appeal to me.
