This is a fairly decent sander, but the front and back stop the sanding belts from sitting perfectly flat so if you were trying to sand a floor or something it wouldn’t work too well. The little dust collector is pretty bad and doesn’t really collect much at all, so a lot of mess is made for you to clean up

I bought this yesterday. Once I went to open the box today, it was clearly a returned/used one as there was some scuff at the front, belt and sander already dusty etc. But that's a B&Q issue, not a Black&Decker one. While in use with the belt secured as instructed in the manual, the belt slips sideways and damages the front. When it slips too far it just turns itself off. I've got about 20 mins use out of it before giving up. Buy something else.

I chose this sander because I have a number of Black and Decker tools which have given me good service and they are reasonably priced. I did not experience the problems of the belt not running true or being unable to centre it correctly as reported by others. The belt does get very hot so will expand slightly and require some centre adjustment during use but if you pay attention to this then it runs without problem. I sanded down my bathroom floor in about an hour which was better going than I had anticipated. It would have been 5 stars except for the fact that it is very noisy and I had to wear ear defenders. Also, the vacuum exhaust adapter split but this is easily repaired with some gaffer tape.
