Still awaiting action — defective sander was returned two weeks ago.

Sander is heavy but that is a good feature. Takes wood down to needed level quickly. Belt adjustment works well. It's hard to see the wood surface while you're sanding. The Dust Collector doesn't collect the dust like they claim. This sander will work fine for the few times that I'll be using it. Because you can flip the sander and run it on the workbench, it will be good for when I need to sand down small wooden craft parts.

This is a great sander. It's well designed and well built. It has plenty of power, and the variable speed adjusts soothly. Belt replacement is easy and belt tracking adjustment is precise. I chose Metabo because, based on experience, I don't trust the under $90 sanders to perform well or last very long. And was nice to find a high quality sander that cost less than half of the other high quality sanders out there.

After fighting my 30+ year old belt sander I started looking online for a good replacement. This Metabo came out on top more often than not. I went with corded because 1) 90% of work would be in shop 2) I’ve used other battery powered tools that when used continually for longer periods they slowed, needed a break and unless you’ve got plenty of spare batteries it’s a pain! Although battery tools are super convenient most of the time. I put a belt on and adjusted the tracking and it stayed right there! I was able to watch my work rather than constantly looking at the belt ❤️. Maybe most new belt sanders are better than my old old one. The reviews I read were spot on, I highly recommend this reasonably priced tool. Anyone need a slightly used 35 year old craftsman belt sander? Works great if you like messing with it more than sanding!

Great product except for the cover to the pulley is plastic breaks easily. Prefer cast iron
