Purchased in duplicate several months apart, 1 in March 2021 (24 10 2022). Both cards were mounted in the same machine without any problem. I archive on 12 hard drives. I make copies and transfers with very satisfactory speeds of around 100 MB/s. To date, I have not had any file loss. So yes, I am very satisfied with the product and LDLC for the commercial part.

1. Cause of data loss Installation (under windows 11) with 1 disk: ok (average performance but acceptable). Adding a second and third disk: ok ... until I start writing to one of the disks -> all 3 are then corrupted. 2. Archaic update system Archaic upgrade procedure unacceptable in 2022: a whole bootable key thing to do with a non-provided tool -> a trick thought up by last century technicians who never heard of user experience ....

I bought this card to set up a RAID 1 under Ubuntu 20.04 with 2 Seagate BarraCuda 8Tb HDD (ST8000DM004). To configure the card, it is indicated to press ctrl + M, but it is for a QWERTY keyboard, for an AZERTY one, you have to press ctrl + ?. Ubuntu recognises the hard drive perfectly like any other. I was able to install it without any problem except that the performance is mediocre. When the PC does nothing, Munin indicates a latency of 80ms. And a simple apt upgrade can take tens of minutes. As a result, I only use it to store backup files. It's impossible to run an OS, a VM or an application, it's much too slow. I rollback to my RAID 1 Mdadm and its average latency is under 1ms.

Allows you to bypass the limitation of Intel RAID controllers built into older motherboards for HDDs larger than 3Gb. My server under WHS was able to reboot even though it was impossible to install directly on the motherboard RAID controller.

Im using this with 4× 1TB BIOSTAR S120 2.5" SSD, for a total of around 3.6TB of SSD storage in Raid 0– purely for bulk game storage so I dont fill up my NVME drive- works great, meets expected speeds, however does increase boot time to windows by about 20sec- I had to disable something in my bios for it to stop Pauseing on boot, however cannot remember what it was…
