I'm on my second one. I shoot over 50,000 photos a year. The first one lasted over 10 years. The functions are buttery smooth and I expect this one to last a long time as well. It is heavy though. I would only recommend this for a studio.

The ease and speed of setup is what I rely most on. I take it to a location and am ready to shoot in seconds.

I've resisted moving to a ball mount because camera height is so critical to me and you lose the adjustable center post. You're trading ease of level for ease of correct height. I'd rather be a little off level than 1 1/2 too low. This gives you both, It takes some strength with me camera, slider, head, etc mounted because when you release all three legs you are holding up all of that plus most of the tripod, but in a couple of seconds you've got the bubble in the circle and its done. Probably faster than a ball mount. And you still have an adjustable (crank) vertical post

My tripod came with a large dent on one of the legs.. so I had to return it. I didn't want a replacement after hands on with it. This tripod has an option to release all the legs with a release lever. Nice to extended and contract the legs. But with this you get a lot of play in the legs. They must be loose so the legs can easily move up and down. Only the middle section of the legs work on the easy release.. If you want the lower sections to extend you need to twist the locking grip.. So here is another problem. You need two hands on the leg to use the twisting locks as to the play and slippage of the middle section. Yes the middle section can move when trying to twist the lower locks. So to release the lower sections safely do this before loading your camera on the tripod.
