Clamp spring far too strong and powerful. It feels like it would crush my smartphone.

Well made item and supports my phone really well both ways.

The Manfrotto Pixi Mini is a small, light tripod that can hold small cameras, smartphones, LED lights or even small DSLR’s on tabletop or at ground level. It’s rather sturdy if you don’t overload its 1kg load limit. It doesn’t come with a quick release bracket, but the ball allows instant repositioning of your camera by using the push button, realigning your device and releasing the button. Its legs can be collapsed and with a proper Smartphone bracket, the Pixi can be used as very comfortable, short selfie stick (use your self-timer). It packs easily as it is only 230gm and 7” long when collapsed. I have several and am always finding new uses for them. This is a well-designed, useful mini tripod.

I like Manfrotto kit as it's well made; I've used it for years. I'd been looking around for a clamp to hold an old iPhone to use as a video camera. I'd dismissed the £4 ones on a well known auction site as they were plastic. Though I'd spend the extra and get the Manfrotto one; a bit disappointed then when it arrived and it's also plastic. Perhaps I should have done more research as I'd assumed it would be aluminium. Work well though.

Service and delivery from Wilkinson very good. In terms of the clamp, good overall, but the plastic prop on the back is quite flimsy, so could break easily. The rest of the clamp is very well designed. Overall, a good compromise if the jump up to the next Manfrotto clamp in the range is too much.
