I always take care of my memory cards and make sure I format them correctly (in camera). I was just transferring a few hundred NEF files to my SSD and the XQD card is corrupted. I paid about £130 for it and it breaks just 2 years later. What a waste! Furious.

It seems like false advertising to me. The item description says 'Sony 120GB (128GB pre format)', so if the card is 128GB pre formatted, 27GB is lost in formatting. Even if it's 120GB pre formatting, that's a loss of 19GB. Either way, that's massive, especially on a product of this price.

For many years, my pro camera set ups were predominately CF card systems. but the XQD leaves them in the dust on many levels, excellent buffering and the cards manage a bulk of images very well. Only dropping a star for the cost that they are right now, While the price is trending a bit lower than say a couple of years back, they are still rather expensive I use them with a pair of Nikon D850 DSLR cameras
