it will shock you at the size of the box for the price - especially if you pay full price for this, however that's life now, prices have gone up so much. As long as my grandson likes it that's all that matters

I was really pleased with the finished look of this little kit. Aragog is really the centre piece and he looks really great when built. I did worry he might be a little bit too fragile to play with when built but he was surprisingly sturdy. Posing him is a little fiddly as each leg is individually mobile so takes a bit of fiddling to get him to balance on his own but really worth it. The scene that comes with Aragog is basically just a tree but it does have lots of little pre-moulded spiders to add to your other scenes. This made me happy because I could leave a little trail from the Great Hall to the forest I sort of have built in my display case. When i bought this set, i knew it was a discontinued item so i wanted to get it fast before they were gone online. It was really easy to assemble and only took me an hour, so it wasn’t time consuming at all! However, the set only contains a small tree and a spider, so for its price i think it’s a little bit too expensive, I would only pay around £15 for it (although i have noted that it’s discontinued so it’s probably a bit pricier in places). Overall, I would recommend this product despite its price, since it was really easy to put together and is certainly fun to play with!

We bought this for our 10 year old grandson as we have bought "Harry Potter Cluedo" costing £24.99 for his 8 year old brother and wanted something Harry Potter related for a similar price. Our daughter-in-law said they both had many of the Harry Potter Lego sets but wanted Aragog's Lair so we said we'd get that, and as it cost just over £22 felt very pleased that we had achieved our goal. When it arrived the box was a little battered but we were more shocked at how small the set is - it certainly does not compare with the substantial Cluedo game - and feel Lego are exploiting Harry Potter fans (and their parents) with the inflated cost, you can buy much larger sets in other Lego ranges for the same price or even less.
