Despite being a little on the expensive side, this set had everything your child needs for a great play experience. The Lego trains are great but the variety of play is a little limited compared to the cargo trains and other large Lego sets. Still, it looks great, works well and having 2 carriages is a nice change from previous passenger train sets. The biggest issue is the sheer number of batteries thing takes (as do all the Lego train sets from the past 16 years). Bring back the mains powered train sets.

My son absolutely loves this, just remember to turn it off after using otherwise the batteries run out fast.

My nephew built it on the day of his birthday, 10year old, built in a few hours, but he loved it. Wish Lego has a more difficult train as this was a bit easy for him

My son opened this for his 16th birthday...couldn't wait to build it. Sat solidly building it yesterday afternoon & we are really impressed with how realistic the details and even the train noise are. He has autism ...loves trains & lego but I had nothing else to go on for what to buy him so i took a chance. I bought this along with some extra track (from reading reviews). It's a total success & he's already looking at other accessories he can get to expand it. A very good quality product worth the money we think. Would recommend.
