LEGO 42129 Technic - 4x4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros -kuorma-auto

My older son loved this for Xmas ,,plenty for 15 yr old to construct ,great value

I thoroughly enjoyed building this, instructions were mostly clear and the building very satisfying. The final product looks good and functions well. Some people have commented on how slow it is, this is true but clearly is by design. The motors are not slow, it is how the gears have been designed to provide more torque and less speed. It can climb pretty steep ramps, particularly with the differential lock engaged, however it's ground clearance is not great due to the axels. This means it can easily get stuck on rough terrain. Admittedly while I enjoyed building it, I am now considering taking it apart and repurposing it's parts for a custom build. For the money spent I want it to be more exciting, as it stands it looks great, but not particularly fun to drive. I have no regrets over my purchase though.

I think the designers at Lego had an off-day on this one. I've experience of several of the big Technic series builds and this one is by far the most disappointing. For a start the engine/cab build is really flimsy, doors and bonnet poorly put together and despite 2 large motoes propelling it, it is so damn slow. I wanted to impress my grandson with it, He's 4 years old and love Lego Technic. We took it out into the garden and tested in on a reasonably flat lawn. My word it crawled so slow I felt like giving it a kick. Ok it can climb really good steep inclines, but that's all its good for. The steering is also really poor. Take a day off next time folks the you feel the creative ideas drying up.

Found the gearing high ratio given it has 4 motors it moves at a snails pace steering is sluggish but the building is standard lego difficult

Very good product! Can’t comment on the assembly fully as only just started but I’m sure it will be fine
