Having had various Petrol Blower Vac's in the past, when the last one wore out after years of Use. I thought I would upgrade to "Stihl " being told and believing the hype they were the "best" .The only good part about this machine is that the engine starts with relative ease. The rest of it is extremely flimsy including the fan in comparison, looking at the wear already after 6 weeks I will be lucky if the fan lasts through the Autumn (And no doubt the fan is NOT covered by the warranty). As for the Fixing and Removal method for the suction tube and Vac Bag Blower Tube, it is absolutely appalling being so ridiculously difficult. Even after completing the ridiculous system to fit the suction tube to the flimsy gossamer thin plastic spigot it still falls off as it waggles about in use. A really disappointing piece of kit and I certainly expected more from Stihl, never again !

In all my years as a golf course and landscape professional, I have never used a better leaf blower than the Stihl backpack series of blowers. The 86 C-E is no exception! We have a crew of greens keepers that blow leaves in the fall and we use all Still 86 series blowers. They are run for 8 hours each day. They have the durability and the strength for this continuous operation without failure or reduction in output. This backpack blower has the power to move all kinds of leaves (wet or dry) along with stick and even small pebbles. It is great for both small clean up jobs and large industrial applications. After using the Stihl blower, I can honestly say that it is the only one that I would consider in the future.WeightIt is a little heavier than some less expensive brands, however what it adds in weight, it makes up ten-fold in durability and performance.PerformanceThis unit can run for 8 hours a day repeatedly without any sign of wear or reduction in performance.
