Brilliant bit of kit, wasn’t expecting it to be as powerful as it is but it has exceeded my expectations. If you are wanting a chainsaw for light use this makita 36v won’t disappoint you.

Considering it's electric, it doesnt have less power. Slices through the wood cleanly, im quite impressed.

Only used it a couple of times but made loads of cuts and batteries (I went for the 6.0ah) still have loads of juice left. The set up guide could be better - there is the occasionally poorly constructed sentence.

Cracking bit of kit, I have used chainsaws for many years and never thought a battery unit would do the same job, it’s so powerful and much safer, certainly when at height. It’s also lighter, still comes with all the safety features that you would expect, well worth the money.

I needed to tackle an overgrown garden some distance from home so rather than take my old (smoky) chainsaw I would renew it with a new Makita saw. It turned out to be a great saw for lightweight clearance and tackled over 20 saplings of about 75mm and still had loads of charge left. Two points to note, this saw was used in an enclosed garden and the noise level being lower than a petrol saw is a real plus. Also you have no need to take cans of petrol and mixing oil. It saves time and no petrol in the car boot.
