Kodak P800 120 5x Portra

This thing makes you want to play and experiment with light. Very easy to pickup and use without poring over the manual. And the results are amazing.

Kodak changed the backing material for their medium format film and the film no longer rolls properly in the camera. It doesnt roll as tightly with the laminated material they use. Very frustrating- Ive had several light leaks- and have had to throw away half of the boxes Ive purchased. What is going on? Ive been shooting with this film for 4 years- why did they change materials?

I hope kodak continues to make this film forever :)

The grain on this is amazing. I stayed away from 800 for a long time because I was so used to shooting with 35mm and I didn't want my photos to have as much grain as I was seeing, but when shooting medium format (645) it's just the right amount. Portra 800 is quickly becoming my stock film over Portra 400. Especially on these winter days with less and less light. I would gladly buy a higher film speed if they made it. I'm about to start pushing this one just cause you can.

Always a great stock. Beautiful skin tones and manageable grain.
