Manfrotto Lens Support

Manfrotto have changed the design of the plate. Now comes with only a 1/4 screw and a 3/8 adaptor. Very poor compared to the orignal. One used to be able to use both 1/4 and 3/8 screws to secure a heavy lens. It's all a little light weight for large lens. OK for smaller mirrorless kit

This paired with my MT055xpro3 has improved my photography much more than I had imagined. Helps me get those shots that would have been missed before, makes photography with heavy lenses easier on my senior arms all with sharper pictures as a result. The Arca Swiss quick release is much faster and easier also ...some other gimbal/tripod combinations may have more bells and whistles but this combo meets and exceeds my needs and expectations...

The Manfrotto Heavy Lens support is a very sturdy and affordable Head for my MT055 Carbon Fiber Manfrotto TriPod. This tripod head is perfect for Wildlife/Birds In Flight photography. My Nikon D500 with 200-500 Telephoto Lens balances very well and the adjustable tension knobs provide good control to maintain balance while providing smooth up/down and side to side movements. Though a little on the heavy side and probably not suited for hiking too far.

This is heaven to use . Am so very happy that I went with this one for reasons of price, solid build and ease of use.......Am sure the more expensive ones have more bells and whistles and I probably would like them but this one definitely serves my purpose and has really helped in many ways...

Bought this gimbal about two years ago because I needed something to handle my new 600mm, but im not rich. So a Wimberly gimbal head was out of the question. I mounted to my brand new Benro tripod and its works like a charm. Super heavy duty. I actually operate mine with the swinging arm in the upside down position. so its forms a box shape. Then I let the camera hang from the inside top of it. Allows me to use the mounting plate as a very comfortable and useful handle when I remove the camera from the box. Theres a safety lock on the slide/mounting plate, just in case you forget to tighten the set screw, the camera wont accidentally slid out of the bracket and fall to the ground. the pivoting and panning is very smooth. And theres more than enough strength in the head to hold my setup in any position I want. Is it big? Yep. Is it a bit cumbersome? Yes it is. But its works great and is MUCH less expensive than some other bands on the market. For the money it cant be beat!!
