We have purchased DeWalt products for years to do up houses and we had the older model of this which lasted years and years until it finally came to its bitter end. This new model really does the same job (why change perfection) except it cuts bigger items so even more handy for larger pieces of wood. If you are in need of a tool to cut wood in a multitude of directions, this is perfect for skirting board, stud walls, building a deck, making your own pergola, fencing and crafting a staircase to fit, plus much more. Good saw, only downside so far is needed to adjust the settings as inaccurate out of the box. This fairly easy to do once you plough through just about adequate instructions. Feels like a big step up from a bottom of the range Makita.

A fantastic mitre saw, very accurate with good cutting capacity. It is well worth considering buying the Dewalt Leg Stand to accompany this, you won't regret it.

After a long lifetime, this tops the list of tools I wish had been available 50 years ago. It is powerful, accurate, easily adjustable and, in conjunction with the Short Beam Leg Stand easy to set up and take down, easy to transport - and surprisingly undemanding of storage space. The built-in LED line marker is invaluable, especially for mitres. This saw has saved me hours of careful marking out and cutting by hand and even with the standard blade is remarkably clean-cutting.
