I absolutely love this! I've been debating getting this lens for about a year now and finally bit the bullet and do not regret the purchase at all. I used this on my R50 to take our holiday photos for our Christmas card this year, and to say I am pleased with the results is an understatement. Truly the perfect bang for your buck!!

Great portrait lens, i have the r10 so the lens cones up to be more of an 80mm which has been great for more candis shots of my 3 year old

Shooting portraits with a 50mm lens is an absolutely amazing experience. It's on a completely different level from my high-end mobile phone. The quality, the depth of field, and the way it renders subjects is just beautiful. However, it's important to remember that this is pure photography – there's no AI to automatically touch up your photos like on a phone. This means that learning the fundamentals, especially composition, is crucial. But that's the rewarding part! It pushes you to become a better photographer. If you're ready to move beyond point-and-shoot and truly learn the craft of creating beautiful portraits, this lens is a fantastic choice.
