works very well. I've been surprised when looking at the photos by just how sharp they are.

This isn't the fastest lens in the world, and it isn't the lens that I originally wanted (which is the 100mm-400mm), but it is the lens that I could afford, so I decided to give it a try. First, as I said, it isn't very fast. It doesn't give you lovely DOF and bokeh in most cases. BUT, it is super light weight, relatively compact, and pretty darned sharp. Because of the weight I can can use it hand held in many cases. It was nice having the camera sitting on the front seat of the car and grabbing it when I saw some wild horses on the road way. Nice, too, to be able to quickly bring it up and snap a shot when my friend's wolf started howling on my recent visit. It may not have been my first choice for a lens, but I'm happy with it, and even if I get the other lens, this one is staying-- it's too darned convenient to get rid of.

Brilliant value and very impressed with quality; I could justify XF as I only will use this zoom occassionally
