This thing is a work horse. Easy to set up and durable.

The new router supplied by my internet provider had almost no configurability. The RS200 has proven to be an excellent performer on WiFi with full coverage at maximum speed throughout my 3000 sq ft house. The router interface is easy to use, responsive with quick refresh after changes and can be easily configured to server just about any home network. Even better, my wife likes the styling and has no objection to its placement in the dining room. The router USB port works well with Microcenter flash drives for shared storage.

With dual-band Wi-Fi 7 and a top speed of 6.5Gbps, the Nighthawk RS200 does offer a fast and reliable upgrade for owners of older dual-band routers. It also provides four Ethernet ports for fast wired connections too. However, owners of new computers and mobile devices that support Wi-Fi 7 may prefer a tri-band router that also supports the high-speed 6.0GHz band. And, as always, Netgear provides limited parental controls – unless you pay for an additional subscription.

At $230, the NETGEAR Nighthawk RS200 is an excellent dual-band option for those wanting a simple and reliable Wi-Fi 7 router without the 6GHz band. It’s a broadcaster that will get the job done without being overly sophisticated. However, if you want more both in terms of features and performance, the ASUS RT-BE86U is a much better (and more expensive) alternative. Check them out today !
