TP-LINK TD-W8960N Langaton N-reititin - Wireless router N Standard - 802.11n

I only use the internet for emails and shopping, no gaming, so an expensive high speed router is wasted on me. However I bought this in June 2016, and it ceased to work in October 2018. I suppose you get what you pay for, and this one is fairly cheap, but all my other cheap ones have done better than this. Pity, it worked very well all the time it was working, and I'm sorry to have to chuck it.

Wi-Fi stops working frequently (every few days), necessitating the famous "switch it off and back on again", to get it working again. The first thing I did when I was setting it up was update to the latest firmware so that isn't the problem. (I checked a couple of days ago for a newer version and there isn't one.) I note from their website there is now a Version 8 of this product. The one I purchased, in October 2017, is Version 7 so perhaps the problem of losing the Wi-Fi connection has now been fixed. I appreciate that, given the cost, this is a "bargain basement" router but, nevertheless, it should still do what it says on the tin and I expected more from TP-LINK.

I use at home for my broadband, but it crashes everyday and requires a reboot. Bought it new on Amazon UK

improvement over previous sky sr102 black box router. better signal through out my flat. although it doesnt increase speeds per say as this is dependant on adsl provider and copper cable etc but i plug it straight into main bt point. 4/3/2018 since i fitted it, it sometimes drops signal all together and i need to turn off and turn back on. happens about once a week, im not too sure whats wrong. maybe faulty or not i have no way of contacting the seller to correct this matter. 8/3, im returning the router. every 2 days i need to reset it. was warehouse deal maybe its faulty

Great when used with another router to extend signal and improve security.
