This is my first cordless reciprocating saw and I'm pretty pleased overall. The convenience outweighs the reduced power over a corded saw. I haven't used it heavily, but when I've needed it I haven't had any complaints. I like the light and the easy blade and depth changes, and the folding hook is very useful. Battery life with the 3 amp battery isn't great, so plan to have an extra. I recently used the saw to cut loose some large stumps I'd exposed with a backhoe, and it was very nice not to have to dull my chainsaw in the muddy holes. Cutting was much slower than with a chainsaw and I went through a few batteries, but I probably still saved time over having to sharpen a chain or two. The saw feels a bit bulkier and heavier than my corded version, but not objectionably so. It should have come with a carry bag or case, but other than that I'm pretty happy.

I committed to all Makita cordless tools ten years ago and still feel that they are the best ones out there. I'm a pro and I come across a lot of other brands while out on jobs. Nothing compares to the power or feel of Makita. This is my second sawzall. I damaged the first one while pruning a big branch and didn't hesitate in replacing it with a new one.
