I really like this saw, It has features other more expensive saw don't, the quality is remarkable and the cutting capacities are one of the largest

I recently mounted the Oshlun LG-M01 Laser Guide to my Metabo KGS 305 saw. The laser is an excellent enhancement for saw.

this think is a freakin' beast. i knocked off a star because the fence doesn't sit permanently flush to allow a straight 90 degree cut, so you have to make minor adjustments prior to use. this summer when i get tired of constant adjustments, i might just push the fence all the way back and make necessary adjustments with shims for a more permanent solution.

This saw is pretty awesome. Plenty of power, was pretty much spot on right out of the box, and I got it at a great price. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the dust management. There is no dust bag, just a port that you can hook a vacuum system too, which would probably work fine, but a dust bag would be easier. One small gripe isn't bad though.

This is my 2nd (power) miter saw. The 1st one was very good, but also very limited. For someone who's budget is $700, I would recommend this saw as it definitely is fair to compare the KGS305 to any $700 range 12" Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound saw out there. I have made at least 300 cuts with mine, at various angles and bevels. I do not see the need for a laser as measurements are invariably accompanied by instructions such as, "cut the line", "leave the line", "the piece to be used is on the (left/right)"; so a laser is just in the way. Mine was manufactured in 2010; it shipped UPS; and incurred no shipping/handling damage. I called my agent to be sure it is insured as replacement---absence the Metabo at some future time---is surely $700 plus. Okay, there is one not so great feature, and that is the slide-out supports. Just use or make your own miter saw table.
