Im not prepared to risk seriously expensive glass, for the sake of saving a few bucks on a protective filter that makes virtually no difference to image quality. SIGMAs ceramic filters offer the best protection. And I defy anyone to prove they make any difference to image quality.

I own several Sigma Ceramic WR filters from 67-82mm. All of them are great, and none of them have been scratched or otherwise damaged in any way. I have not noticed any issues with flare or other impacts on the image quality. They are resistant to getting smudged, and they are very easy to clean. Price wise, they cost about the same as BW XS-pro. I prefer Sigma because of the stronger glass and because they are easier to clean. The XS-Pro slim filters have a slightly thinner frame, and hold a theoretical advantage with regards to vignetting.

Solid build, no color cast. Easy to attach other filter holders to, such as Lee adaptors. While this is simply intended as front element protection, I have no intent on testing!

Four stars instead of 5 only due to the manufacturer's price point. Haven't put it to the test since purchasing this item as I try to be very careful with my gear. However in reading about the Ceramic Protector Filter as well as watching video produced by the manufacturer in my view it's likely worthwhile as an ounce of prevention.
