Klipsch Cinema 800 soundbar

Please note: Their warranty support was over the top and got me fixed up with a new system! I really enjoyed this especially after buying the Surround 3 speakers however only less than a year later I started having many issues. I would constantly have to unplug it for it to start responding again and finally the bass went completely out. I tried all the inputs and even plugged the bass directly into the soundbar and I heard nothing. I really love the dialog feature especially at night when I want to hear dialogs but not loud blow your ear off explosions.

Speaker set up was not bad. It took a little bit to connect to Wi-Fi, but it connected. After using the speaker set up for about 3 months, using the HDMI(Arc) format, I lost control of the sound bar completely. The only way to get a response from the sound bar was to unplug it and re-plug in after 30 seconds. Klipsch support suggested downloading a difficult zip file and install it myself. After multiple tries and begging them to send me the update or refund my money, Klipsch reluctantly sent me a usb stick that had the update. REALLY!! after all this then you send me the update like its GOLD!!?? The sound bar is working great now. The hassle from support has caused me to never buy a Klipsch product again! In my world, it is NOT about the problem, It is how are you handling it. Klipsch fails here. Big time.

I’ve had it two years. It’s never worked correctly. On the rare occasion that it did work it sounded great. Too bad. Customer service by email sucked and they sent me directions to “update the firmware”. Literally FIFTY STEPS TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE. INCLUDING THREE OLD FASHIONED USB DRIVES, UNPLUGGING HALF A DOZEN TIMES BLAH BLAH BLAH. it’s a joke when every other product on earth updates firmware automatically or just one button.

I had expected a lot more from this unit. It does sound better than an old BOSE system I had however, it very often just stops working. I very often have to power cycle the unit to get it back up. I did update the unit which is not an easy process and should be part of the app but isn’t. Also, the different preset equalizer settings don’t seem to make much difference. Again, I expected a lot more for the money.

Not much to say that I like about this Cinema 800. From initial startup, nothing but problems. At startup firmware needed to be updated, and firmware prevented from connecting to WiFi. Soundbar would play, but not connect to wireless Subwoofer. Klipsch support has instructions to update the firmware by USB flash drive. After updating, connection issues was resolved and connected to Subwoofer. The soundbar will not turn on along with TV. Hard buttons and remote are not working, and only control is through the Klipsch app. When able to get the soundbar to work, the sound quality is subpar and okay at best. After owning several Klipsch bookshelf speakers and Subs previously, the Cinema 800 does not live up to the quality and reputation of the Klipsch name brand. I am severely disappointed in the Cinema 800. Not worth the money, and would not buy it again!
