Carolina Herrera Chic for Men Eau De Toilette 100 ml (mies)

It is summer about 18 years ago, my teenage self and my cousin are sitting on the beach in the evening. Relaxing and eating ice cream from his pocket, he pulls out a sample of "Chic for Men (Eau de Toilette) | Carolina Herrera." Psst psst, and thus began a love that lasts to this day. In the top note, I perceive mandarin and cardamom with a touch of watermelon - sounds strange - but it fits together very well. Later, the scent becomes spicy and woody. It is by no means a freshie - for me, however, it is wearable at any time. The longevity is unfortunately not so great, projection is moderate, but given the low price, I find that okay. For me, a fragrance under the radar, where a test is definitely worth it.

The opening blast with its lemon and the watermelon is quite nicely done. In the drydown a sweet cinnamon/sugary aroma takes over, more a reminiscence of cinnamon candy than the actual brown-tube shaped spice. The base is awash with white musks, which are now rather dominant. The occasional burst of an ambery sidekick and whiffs of vanilla that are present from time to time cannot detract from the fact that until the end the white musks rule. I get moderate sillage, good projection and six hours of longevity on my skin, even after very liberal application. A spring daytime scent that starts off quite pleasantly but losing quality form the drydown on. It turns increasingly generic and overly synthetic, especially in the more recent times I sampled it. 2.75/5.

The product seems watered down. It smells good but not as strong. The scent doesn’t last long. I’m going to try buying from a department. Pretty disappointed cause I thought it would be a legit product from amazon. The seller was Amazon not a third party.

I love it but the perfume was broken. I just realized it when I arrived home several months ago.

So far this is one of my top 5 colognes. I love all of the CH colognes, the smells last long and I receive a lot of compliments.
