Boss Number One on klassinen vuoden 1985 miesten tuoksu, joka jakaa mielipiteet. Vintage-pullot tarjoavat vaikuttavaa kestävyyttä (10+ tuntia) rohkealla hunaja-tupakka-puu-profiililla, joka herättää 1980-luvun luksusta. Nykyaikaiset uudelleenmuotoilut ovat kuitenkin huomattavasti heikompia ja laimentuneita, kestävät vain 2-3 tuntia iholla. Tuoksulla on erityinen eläimellinen laatu sivetistä ja hunajanuoteista, joita jotkut pitävät hienostuneina ja aistillisina, kun taas toiset pitävät niitä virtsaisina tai epämiellyttävinä. Jauhemainen keskivaihe tuntuu vanhentuneelta nykyaikaisiin makuihin. Parhaiten sopii niille, jotka arvostavat klassisia voimakkaita tuoksuja ja ovat valmiita etsimään vintage-pulloja optimaalisen suorituskyvyn saavuttamiseksi. Nykyiset versiot tarjoavat kohtuullista arvoa edullisena sisäänpääsyä 1980-luvun tuoksujen estetiikkaan, mutta odotuksia tulisi hillitä kestävyyden ja projektion suhteen verrattuna alkuperäisiin formulaatioihin.
