YSL Y Eau de Parfum Intense on raikas, moderni miesten tuoksu sinisessä tyylissä, puhtaammalla ja aikuisemmalla luonteella kuin alkuperäinen Y EDP. Inkiväärinen ja sitruksinen avaus saa paljon kehuja, ja monet pitävät tuoksua riittävän monikäyttöisenä toimistoon, arkeen ja iltakäyttöön. Suorituskykyä kuvataan yleensä hyväksi tai vahvaksi, ja tuoksu tuntuu selvästi muttei liian voimakkaasti. Useat miinukset toistuvat kuitenkin arvioissa: tuoksua pidetään melko geneerisenä eikä kovin omaperäisenä Y‑sarjassa, ja saippuainen, pesuainemainen drydown on monelle selvä häiriötekijä. Osa käyttäjistä ikävöi myös EDP‑version makeampaa, seksikkäämpää omenanuottia ja kokee, että Intense menettää osan sen viehätyksestä.
