Tämä ulkoinen kiintolevy yhdistää 5 Tt tallennustilaa kestävään, kannettavaan koteloon. Se on tarkoitettu suurten tiedostomäärien säilyttämiseen ja kuljettamiseen sekä varmuuskopiointiin matkalla. USB 3.0:n ansiosta sitä voi käyttää tavallisiin siirtoihin monilla järjestelmillä. Mekaanisen rakenteensa vuoksi se sopii parhaiten arkikäyttöön eikä niinkään erittäin nopeaan, raskaaseen tai pitkään intensiiviseen käyttöön.

This is the second LaCie external drive that I have purchased. The first is still working fine, but only USB 2. The new rugged mini is much faster and more portable. Would never buy another brand!

Good Points: Large capacity in a rugged design, but you must remember this is a HD not an SSD and so will still be sensitive to shock despite the design. The capacity size is great for the price. Improvement Points: As an HD not an SSD this has a slower speed of read and write, so it is important to think of the use to which you will put this device. I am using it as a photo bank and so speed is not so important. The purchase was forced by price, because if I could have afforded the same as SSD I would have bought an SSD.

Good Points: Brilliant design and capacity. Latest connections with great speeds. Improvement Points: The price. That's it. Could be about 10 pounds cheaper.

This is my second LaCie and, a bit disappointed. Sadly, unlike the first here the cable detaches from the drive and with that, has the potential to also have a bad connection. Also is the connection point for the usb cable a bit flimsy and could be design tho be secure. The speed of the drive is nothing to write home about and is rather average. With that said, there are a few drives that have the same or better drop and “ abuse “ ratings, for far less money.

Ostin tällaisen n. 9 kk sitten, ja olen ollut tyytyväinen. Pehmustus vähentää huolta, kun levyä kiikuttaa mukanaan paikasta toiseen. Koneeni on dual boot, eli siinä on Windows 11 ja Linux Mint 20.2, ja varmuuskopiot teen Linuxin puolella, koska Rsyncin veroista kopiointityökalua ei saa Windowsiin ainakaan ilmaiseksi ja yhtä helposti. Alustin levyn alkuperäiset osiot pois ja laitoin uuteen Linux-osioon vielä salauksen päälle. Minulla on omia tiedostojani varten Rsync-pohjainen kopiointikomento, kun taas järjestelmän snapshotit otan Timeshiftillä samalle levylle. Voi muuten pitää jopa yllättävänä, että Rsync osaa kopioida Windowsin kanssa jaetusta NTFS-osiosta hienosti Linuxille tehtyyn tiedostojärjestelmään (olikohan Ext4 minulla käytössä). Toisinpäin tämä tuskin onnistuisi. Kerrottakoon vielä, että kopiot olen ottanut tähän vain kerran kuussa, koska säilytän levyä kodin ulkopuolella. Annan arvosanaksi 5, koska en keksi tästä mitään puutteita.
