Bought for my Mac’s time machine backups. Backed my my Mac once then refused to work again. What a joke - cannot recommend, not reliable, don’t even bother, not worth the hassle and inconvenience. Do yourself a favour, spend the extra cash and buy a SSD instead.

2nd broken WD elements in 12 months. Not sure what is going on with these products but they have gone from reliable to unreliable. I had a WD hard drive for several years, now 2 in 12 months. No surge, hasnt been dropped. Just started clicking for no reason and no longer turns on. Cant return it as it is past the date. Waste of $140.

I purchased "WD 1TB My Passport Black - WDBYVG0010BBK-WESN" and it works perfectly. It is very fast. It was also shipped within a day. The drive itself is super slim. Gone are the days of bulky textbook sized 1TB sized drives. It is literally the size of a wallet and thin. I was actually surprised to see that the drive was this thin and light. In terms of speed, it is obviously not as fast as an SSD. It however reads/writes super fast. I highly recommend this purchase. It is affordable, reliable, and super fast!
