D-Link DWA-121 Wireless-N 150 Micro-USB sovitin

There is No Support from D-Link for this OBSOLETE USB Wi-Fi adapter. This adapter is obsolete by D-Link in 2015 but is still being sold as "new" here on Amazon. No FIRMWARE downloads or SOFTWARE UPDATES are available. Very disappointed. I would still be able to use this EXCEPT my router requires WPA2-AES encryption capability and this adapter can no longer be upgraded or updated. I will send it back for a refund.

As a "premium" wifi 6 device, I had expected the dongle to feel representative of the cost and perform on par with other wifi 6 devices... however the product is exactly the opposite. It very cheap and nasty both look and feel. The performance matches that of the conventional RTL cheap wifi5 devices. D-Link products are usually dependable however this (as others also have observed) is definitely not the case.

This network adapter is for use on Windows Linux and the BSD’s I use it on my OpenBSD computer The device name on OpenBSD is “urtwn0”. Just type “ifconfig” on your OpenBSD Computer and it will show all of your network adapters. You will see “urtwn0” which is your DLink DWA 121. I hope this helps: Brian

I got this to have a means of quickly adding Wifi to older desktops while debugging them. It's small and compact. On Windows 10 the supplied application is needed configure the Access Point & password, but installation was straightforward. Signal strength seemed decent for such a small device. The one caution is that there are no MacOS drivers for recent MacOS releases (Catalina onwards), but this is a known issue with legacy hardware like this. Linux *should* be OK but I haven't tried that yet.
