Hoka One One M Tecton X 3 Squid Ink/Neon Flame - 44 2/3

I have done all my Ultras in Speedgoat. I decided to try something different. This trail runner is the perfect blend of cushion and energy return. Initially, I was hesitant but the built in ankle gaiters are nice and helps keep dirt out. Size run small so you might want to go 1/2 size bigger. My new favorite for trail distance.

I love this shoe. I was able to run many miles in training and races without ever having to switch shoes for any reason. Supportive and durable. These have a thick base which could make very technical running harder if you can't "feel" what's underneath you but I love them! They also dry fast.

I'm on my second pair and it's a very versatile shoe. I've done easy recovery runs all the way to short hard 10 mile races.

In the last 5 years I have acquired just over 25 pairs of Speed Goats. I am currently training for one of the 4 Deserts Stage Races put on by Racing The Planet and The Tecton X3's have caught my eye for the built in gaiter. Finally received these in my normal SG size and took these out for two separate trail runs. These things are awesome! Only two minor things. First - tend to run a bit bigger than the Speed Goats hence having to exchange for a half size smaller which will still leave room for the ultra runs. Second - could use a bit more heel support. Hoping that sizing down will help with this. Am going to purchase a second and most likely a third set of these? Absolutely!!!

I have a foot issue so need the carbon plate in my shoes so my feet stay relatively straight when walking. This if the best shoe I've ever had for this. These are SO comfortable, very stable and are cute. I'm obsessed.
