I love this kettle BUT the seller’s description MISREPRESENTS the item. The bird does NOT whistle. Even if you buy the whistling bird as a replacement piece it will not work because the electric kettle automatically shuts off as soon as the water boils. I messaged the seller about this after purchasing and they never responded and also did not change the description - so it remains falsely advertised. So it’s a lovely kettle but if a whistler is what you want get the stovetop, not this.

Shorting as others experienced happened to mine too. Don't buy it. Unacceptable for this price.
