StarTech.com cat5e rj45 modular inline coupler

The Coupler works great. I had a short ethernet line coming out of the wall and needed to entend the connection to my Mac. I connected the coupler to the ethernet cable, connected my other cable to the coupler and voila, signal to my Mac.

If you are running RJ45 cables under floorboards to link up with another room, as I have just had to do, then this may be essential if the cable is just too short at one end ! It would have been better if cable retention was present, as they could slip out if accidentally pulled.

Using it to connect one 50ft Cat5e run with a 20ft Cat5e run to a wireless access point in my home. I was too lazy to crimp a longer cable, so this worked just fine.

Allthough this rj45 coupler may seem unexciting its a must for anyone with a wired home network .... how many times have you bought a rj45 cable only to discover its 2m too short well this is the answer .. simply connect another rj45 cable using this coupler and you will reach the network location without having to buy a longer cable .. simple and theres no effect on speed so you can use multiple couplers if needed ... buy one today .. no buy two !

Great stocking stuffer for your guy. This item is hard to find in retail stores. Appears to be of good quality.
