TopSpin 2K25 on tutun tennispelisarjan paluu reilun vuosikymmenen tauon jälkeen. Perusasiat ovat kunnossa, mutta visuaalisesti vanhahtavan tennispelin sisältömäärä on niukanpuoleista ja uramoodikin muuttuu melko nopeasti puuduttavaksi ja vaikeustasoltaan ailahtelevaksi grindaamiseksi. Täynnä rankaisevia pro-pelaajia oleva nettipuoli ei ole sekään juuri mielekkyyttä pelastamaan ja ainoa huipentuma onkin käytännössä paikallinen moninpeli.

TopSpin’s return after 13 years is a successful one with TopSpin 2K25. It may not be the same TopSpin that I remember, but it’s still one hell of a tennis sim. Let’s hope that TopSpin 2K26 improves the visuals and customisation options while sorting out the inconsistencies with the player movement…

When it comes to sports games, which are generally annualized, anything can happen between releases, whether good or bad. In comparison, a time gap like the one that TopSpin has hanging over its head leaves a lot of room for error. While not a flawless re-debut, TopSpin 2K25 brings back the same charm and attention to detail known to the franchise that fans will want to sink their teeth into.
