Samsung Galaxy Watch8 44 mm 4G

I bought this watch after a few friends had unfortunate falls while alone and had to wait several hours (one 80 yr old) and three days (88 year old) before being found. The idea that the watch will alert my emergency person to me having fallen and not moving for 30 seconds makes me feel secure about living alone. I am 75.

If you are a Samsung phone owner then yes, the watch is worth it. Without the Samsung phone, the most important features are locked, not because it won't work on any other phone but purely because of the ecosystem lock in. Also, it is not mentioned anywhere when you buy it, I assume they hope that people will buy a Samsung phone once they have the watch. That is a no from me.

I picked up this product in October last year and it would not last 8 hours. Also the pinch gesture to start the timer wasn't working. After trying different options I took it back to the store and it took 5 weeks to finally get a replacement (at first Samsung had sent a new face watch without the bracelet!). I encountered the same issue with the new watch without changing any setting (working fine for first couple of weeks but then turning off after 8 hours). This 2nd watch was sent again and due to invoicing not properly documented by Harvey Norman, it has taken over 2 weeks to finally be told that a repair would be done as Samsung see it as a "minor issue" and they only consider the 2nd watch when assessing the claim and considering options. I work 12-hour shifts as a nurse and the 2 most important aspects for me was battery life of over 12 hours and the pinch gesture. Have always been in use of Samsung devices. And as usual my both Samsung phone and watch are Excellent. Recommended 100%.
