There are lots to like about the Z 7II, and while it’s not a complete overhaul when compared to its predecessor, there have been some small but valuable upgrades. Particularly of interest to professionals and high-end enthusiasts is the addition of a secondary card slot, plus 4K 60p video. If you don’t need either of those specs, you can save cash by opting for the original Z7.

All around good camera at a decent price. The included lens is pretty sharp and quite small. This is a very good choice if you have existing F mount lenses. The FTX II adaptor works pretty well.

I decided to get a Z II due to it lightness compared to the traditional DLSR's. I was not disappointed. When hill walking it is a significant advantage to carry less weight. I also found that with camera stabilisation I did not need to use a tripod. I forgot my tripod plate so I had to hand hold when taking images of waterfalls. I managed to get as low as / hand held but I mainly used /. You do have to be more careful when you press the shutter but I was really impressed at how low a shutter speed I reached. So much so, that on subsequent hill walks I have not taken my tripod - less weight and one less thing to carry. The controls on the Z II are very similar to the Nikon D so I did not have any major learning curves. The 'Info' button on the Z II has a lot more functionality and took a while to understand. Overall a great product.
