Love this. It is just a bit smaller than expected. For two people, it is better the larger 12 cup maker, so you can make bigger batches.

For the price this is a very good cafetiere. It comes well packed and ready to go (although I always give anything that touches food or drink a wash out before using it for the first time). It brews enough coffee at one time to wake even me, and trust me it takes a lot of coffee to get kick-start my brain. The handle, whilst plastic, is strong enough to be safe with a full 12 cups (or 3 l a r g e mugs in my case) of coffee. It did take me a couple of uses to get used to turning the lid to close the spout (which does help to keep the coffee hot for longer) but I've learned to do it. The included measuring scoop is just about the right size for a medium strength brew. I would have liked some kind of insulating stand, but at that price I can afford to go out and buy one. :)

12 cups = 3 big mugs. It is perfect for either. Easy to use, easy to wash up, good looking and provided to use a really good coffee and enogh of it, it makes excellent coffee as well. What more can one want? KC

I may just have got a bad one but I was not that impressed with this item. Bodum cafetieres are normally very good but this one is not quite right. The fit of the piston is too tight - which puts too much stress on the gauze when it is withdrawn (in my case turning the edge of the gauze over so that it is now kinked). I think I would prefer one of the ones with a frame and/or base (like my other Bodum cafetieres).It makes it easier to reorientate the spout to the handle. Also keeps the hot Pyrex base away from the surface it is on. Bodum in general I would give five stars to. I have bought some really good cafetieres from them. This particular item appears to be one of their less good offerings. Add a star if (as in entirely possible) the piston problem was just a one off.

this is only £25 at sainsburys online and its not on offer that is the price and is the cheapest I have seen
