For those who don't know, this monitor uses EXACTLY the same panel used in the LG C2 and C3 models. So nobody can say that an L2 is better. Come on! LG doesn't have neither DP nor USB hub, nor the matte finish, nor a ton of true monitor/gaming monitor features. LG provides ASUS the panels! Regarding the matte coating (of course! it's a monitor!) nobody wants a glossy panel! The monitor is super fast, amazing everything. I use for both, gaming and productivity (programming). Have used ultrawides, and nothing, absilutely nothing, compares to the great 16:9 format. In addition, text is super crisp, it's easy on eyes (I use it around 10 hours a day and no headaches at all).

Do not buy this monitor - the LG 42" C2/C3 is a much better panel used as a monitor and it's glossy. It's also half the price.

The panel in this monitor is one of the best on the market. But I haven't seen it yet, as both I ordered arrived with a bent corner and cracked screen. The packing seems pretty bad and the display is very thin and seemingly easy to damage from bends. I even purchased this monitor knowing the firmware was hot garbage, but I haven't even been able to get to that hurdle yet to know if it's true or not. I really want to like this monitor, but aside from the excellent panel, everything else is just no good. I would get the LG C2 which uses the same panel, but it has many issues of its own...

So my only real gripe is this monitor must, not will, must, turn off the screen and spend 5 minutes cleaning itself , without warning, and the only way to force it to come back sooner (which you are advised not to do) is to unplug and re-plug in the power. I work all day on this computer, and so far it's been worth it because it's ... quite good looking and performing, to put it mildly. I would not for a second put up with this kind of bull**** from any LED or IPS screen, that is for sure. I just wish a) there was some kind of warning about this, i mean this is a legitimate deal breaker to anyone doing anything competitive online and b) give us a warning at least? A countdown timer or something that pops up saying "yo i am about to shut you down" , because it *really* sucks the way this is implemented right now. Gorgeous screen, some really bad / stupid implementation decisions around forced screen cleaning.
