This is a monitor that does a good job of just about everything. It has a matte finish to cut down on glare while you work, can deliver power to your laptop via USB-C, and hooks up to a game console or media streamer via HDMI. An all-rounder that’s hard to beat.

Screen shut sown with no light at all. Still have start sounds but with no images. I just bought it on October 2020. It just dead right after the one year manufacture warranty expired. Bad experience and would not by LG Monitor any more.

Exceeded expectations. Plug and play with my M1 chip Mac mini. Matte finish on screen much better than glossy on my old iMac, I have a big window behind me at my desk no problem with reflections. 27 inches of screen real estate is great to have compared to my 23 inch iMac. My wife walked in and saw it immediately ordered one for her MacBook. Only minor knock is you can’t control sound and brightness using your Mac, need to use the joystick hidden under the LG logo which calls up an onscreen menu. No big deal.

After owning this monitor for almost a year, the USB-C become bad such that my MacBook kept getting disconnected when waking up from sleep. This is what happen: 1). Connect MacBook to monitor via USB-C 2). Boot up MacBook - connection working 3). MacBook goes to sleep - monitor goes blank 4). Wake up MacBook and these what happen: - Monitor kept going on and off - USB-C connection got disconnected (monitor blank) then connected and then disconnected again - Repeat all of the above The only fix: disconnect USB-C completely, wait and re-connect. Tested this with 4 different MacBook (Pro, Air, etc. and from 2014-2019) running Big Sur. Same problem. I got another old monitor and tested it with the same MacBooks - no issue with USB-C connection. Avoid this LG model.

I choose this model over the similarly specked Benq because it was $100 cheaper and I didn't need the color range Benq offers. I gave this set up with an Mac mini (M1) and it works great with my work PC (HP Elitebook) as well. It is easy to set up and I travel with it because my home productivity has drastically increased. With the monitor large enough for split screens but small enough to get a future second monitor I'm absolutely happy. I tend to use it in Reader mode for work, but will change to Vivid or the full color mode when I decide to watch a movie on it. The base doesn't take up much room and I like that it does the full 90 degree rotation. I've used it in that mode once.
