  Tunnettuja merkkejä
  Tunnetuimpia näppäimistöjen merkkejä ovat Logitech, Microsoft, Cherry, Corsair, HyperX, SteelSeries, Lenovo ja Razer. Jotkut merkit myyvät näppäimistön ja hiiren samassa paketissa. Yhdistelmäpaketit ovat yhä enenevässä määrin langattomia. Näppäimistön ja hiiren voi siis asettaa kauemmaksi tietokoneesta, mutta ne kuluttavat myös paristoja. Myös langaton hiiri toimii paristoilla ja paristot tekevätkin langattomasta hiirestä hieman painavamman kuin sen johdollisesta lajitoverista.
  
  Näppäimistötyypit

  Näppäimistöt voidaan lajitella esim. niiden liittimien mukaan. Erilaisia liittimiä ovat:

  • Usb-liitin: usb-näppäimistöt ovat suosittuja ja usb-liitin onkin uusi standardi.
  • Langaton liitin: suurin osa valitsee nykyään langattoman näppäimistön. Langattoman näppäimistön vastaanotin kiinnitetään tietokoneeseen. Vastaanotin vastaanottaa signaalin näppäimistöstä ja lähettää sen tietokoneeseen. Langattomat näppäimistöt toimivat paristoilla. Helppo liikuteltavuus tekee langattomista näppäimistöistä niin suosittuja.
  • PS/2 liitin: tällaisia näppäimistöjä myydään yhä, mutta ne ovat menettämässä markkina-alaa kovaa vauhtia.

  Liittimien lisäksi näppäimistöt voidaan jaotella myös kielien tai kielialueiden mukaan. Erilaisia versioita on olemassa monia. Suomessa suosittuja ovat qwerty-näppäimistöt, jotka on räätälöity suomen aakkosten mukaisiksi, eli niihin kuuluvat å- ä- ja ö-näppäimet. Tällaisissa näppäimistöissä välimerkit ja symbolit sijoittuvat myös eri kohtiin kuin esim. USA:n qwerty-näppäimistössä.

  Näppäimistöjä löytyy myös erilaisiin käyttötarkoituksiin, kuten esimerkiksi pelaamiseen tai toimistokäyttöön. Pelinäppäimistöjen huippumerkkejä, kuten HyperX, Logitech, Corsair ja SteelSeries, löydät muiden yleisnäppäimistöjen tapaa vertailusivustoltamme.

  

  Näppäimistöjen ominaisuuksia
  Näppäimistön valintaan vaikuttavat omat tottumukset ja maku. Toiset haluavat näppäimistön jota todella täytyy naputtaa, jotta käskyt menevät perille, kun taas toiset haluavat mahdollisimman kevyisiin painalluksiin reagoivan näppäimistön. Pääasiassa valinnassa vaikuttavat näppäimistön toiminnot sekä ergonomia. RSI on yleinen vaiva monella tietokonetta käyttävällä henkilöllä. Tästä syystä on tärkeää valita näppäimistö, joka tukee käsien asentoa. Tälläinen näppäimistö on esimerkiksi malli, jossa ranteille on tuki ja kädet lepäävät näppäimistön päällä.

  DAS
  Uusi näppäimistöasettelu, joka on tarkoitettu nimeonmaan suomen kieltä varten.
  Englannin kieltä varten on Dvorak-asettelu, ja DAS on vastaava suomen kielen
  asettelu. DAS toimii Linuxin, Applen ja Windowsin kanssa.
  
  Qwerty
  Näppäimistöasettelu, joka on käytössä Suomessa. Noin 101-105 näppäintä.
  
  USB-liitin
  Liitäntä jonka avulla näppäimistö liitetään tietokoneeseen.
