Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100

I have been looking for a portable battery powered scanner that has a small footprint and with the touch of a button scans directly to cloud services (I.e. Onedrive, Dropbox etc.....). This does exactly that. No need to open a laptop or an app on a phone. One button, done! Setup was easy and now my spouse can retrieve the mail, scan the important stuff and then throw it all away. It takes minutes. No more piles of paper cluttering up my living room! I don't think many really realize the true wireless capability of these devices and scansnap sync. I've bought and returned many a scanner that claim to be "straight to the cloud" devices only to find out that you need another device to sync. Scansnap ix is truly best in class!

Bought this scanner for my winter home so I could continue to scan my important documents. Works fine, though on needs to feed 1-sheet at a time, so if double-sided, need to feed it through twice. The bigger problem are the feed guides. They are very short, so when guiding the 8.5 wide paper into the scanner, unless you feed it perfectly perpendicular to the guides equally, the paper can easily go through crooked. This is especially true for any pages after the first page since the subsequent pages are automatically pulled into the scanner. That is usually when the aper goes crooked.

The surprising thing about this device is that it worked right out of the box. I have tried so many computer peripherals that look good on paper and may have great reviews but when you get them, they can be confusing to configure (especially those designed for a PC but kinda support a Mac), won't connect or just won't work. Not the case with this one. It was easy to configure the ScanSnap software and it immediately found my WiFi router and connected. Unbelievable and nice not to curse the manufacturer's designers and software engineers.

I have a S1300, and thought that the uninstall of this software would be supported by the newer one, Scansnap Home (SSH). It does not. SSH will support S1300i, but not S1300. A perfectly good machine I cannot use any longer bc I need to use the mobile one more frequently. iX100 is a little finicky to get used to, but it's only been one day of use. Probably user discomfort. Just wanted to post this review in case there are others, like me, have an older scanner and thought getting a WiFi enabled one would be a perfect match. Take notice, it is not.

I spent almost $200 on this scanner and I have never been able to get it to connect to my computer in order to scan papers I need to scan. I live with two IT professionals, and they could not get the drivers to install; the scanner would not even recognize when it was plugged in, the drivers did not work. DO NOT BUY THIS SCANNER IF YOU HAVE A MAC RUNNING THE LATEST OS THESE ARE CLEARLY BUILT FOR WINDOWS COMPUTERS. The help documents online are confusing and there is no customer support. I am livid that I purchased this waste of money.
