Bought this to use in my area of the house after setting up a VSX-LX503 with the main tv surround system. They are both great and on super sakes right now. They thought of everything in their designs and audio quality is superb for music and the less demanding lower fidelity movie audio. You can’t go wrong with this. That being said, I really dont think you can go wrong with any brand these days. Just make sure you get the power and number of channels you want.

It has been 20 years since I purchased a new Pioneer A/V receiver. I had to read the operating manual a couple times and google some of the words in the manual. Sort of like switching from a flip phone to a smart phone. Now that I've used it for a few weeks I love. I like when I turn on my TiVo that the receiver starts also because of some two way communication magic through the HDMI cable.

Not much of an update on last year's VSX-933, but this seven-channel receiver's performance and features weigh up well against its price tag.

This unit failed right out of the box. Pioneer support was ok, however the device is DOA! DO NOT BUY!
