This projector was my first foray into a home theater hobby, my family watches movies often and we had the space for a 135" projector screen. I really wanted to have 4K capability but also since it was my first projector wanted an entry level projector. I looked at this vs. the BenQ TK800, Viewsonic PX747, and the Epson UHD50. They all have different pros and minuses, I finally just had to bite the bullet since I did not have any option to view them in person where I live. I am really satisfied with the picture quality, the lack of a horizontal or vertical lens shift can make the installation very finicky, but I felt like there was a lot of lens zoom for the space we had. I used projectorcentral.com to estimate the throw distance and it worked great for my theater. I paired it with a Silver Ticket 135" screen and we are loving it! Good value for an entry level projector that I do not think I will need to upgrade for quite a few years.

great quality. Terrific picture. brighter than my old one, even in Movie mode. I have not tried 4k. quiet enough. I was disappointing with the zoom. It has limited range therefore when I move the projector back from behind my head, I will need a bigger screen. Also disappointed that there is no vertical adjust.. not even jack screws. I use coasters. Wife hates it.

Great customer service from ViewSonic. The projector is GREAT! They released a later version with a later firmware containing some improved tweaks. We contacted them & they swapped ours out with no issues or questions. We REALLY like this projector. Great movie & TV watching. You won’t be disappinted

I ordered the PX727-4K to replace an aging 1080P model, and I really love this 4K projector. The improvement in image definition was instantly recognizable, even when viewing lower resolution content … No more pixelated movie nights for me! The colors and black levels were all amazing, right out of the box, and didn’t require settings changes or complicated calibration either. I project onto a 100” high gain screen, and the optical zoom function of the PX727-4K allowed me to utilize the existing ceiling mount without relocation. I haven’t found any negatives so far, but will keep you updated if that changes.
